New Blog Address

Hey guys, I moved my blog to a new address. This one was under my old email and it was getting annoying having to log in to one account to view and another to post. There's probably an easier way to deal with this than getting a new address, but oh well, this is what I did. :) My new address is a-kings-life.blogspot.com  Hopefully it's not too much trouble for you, and please leave a comment if you have trouble getting there.

These lights are in the main bath as well as over our entry and stairs. You can see the lights over the vanities are similar. The ones over the vanities are also over the table in the dining room, laundry room, hall, and potty room in the master bath.

EXTERIOR

Tile Project = No sleep until it's done

Ok, so a few weeks ago we started tiling our house. We are grateful for Greg's dad who was so generous with his time and energy to help us. And it took a lot of both. Greg and his dad did the cutting and laying, with some help from Matt (Greg's little brother). We spent many late nights at the house working on these floors, and shower. I was the measurer and cleaner. After everything was done it only took about half a day to grout it. But then the real work for me began. Each individual tile had to be scrubbed at least 3 times to remove the 'haze' left by the grout. Greg scrubbed a little the night we did the grout. But it was a Saturday, and we were speaking in church the next day. And we'd both procrastinated. : ) So we gave up at 11 PM to go to bed. However, letting the haze sit that long on the floors made it a harder job the next week. So, while Greg helped our electrician I shined up our floors. My arms were so sore for the next 3 days. However, thanks to everybody's efforts we ended up with a beautiful end result. In this first picture you will see big stacks of tile. Well we had 5 of those big stacks. Each individual tile was brought in by our contractor and I.

Ok, so here is an update on our house. We are hoping to be in by the end of March. I've been bad about remembering to take the camera out there, so you'll notice a jump in progress. But, here she is.

This is another angle of our living room from our kitchen. If it helps at all the ladder never moved during the picture taking process, to give you a little idea of the layout. But we are way excited and can't wait to move in!

10 Things I Love About You

Ok, so can I just say I have the best husband in the whole wide world. He really is amazing. I thought today would be a fitting day to list a few of the things I love about Greg.

1. He strives diligently to live the gospel.
2. He loves the Lord and honors his priesthood.
3. He never yells or swears.
4. He is patient.
5. He is generous.
6. He works hard at everything he does.
7. He loves his family.
8. He helps with dinner and cleaning.
9. He finds positive in all things (and I mean ALL things).
10. He's smart and talented, and of course he makes me happy.

Christmas

So Greg and I spent Christmas in Utah with his family. On Christmas Eve we went down to Pleasant View and had a delicious dinner with most of his moms family at his uncle's house. Greg's cousin just returned from a mission in Denmark and he told us some good stories. From there we went on down to Salt Lake where his grandma lives. Christmas morning was nice and relaxing. Our nephew Rockland entertained us all that morning. That night we went to the temple lights. They were so pretty! I was bummed that I didn't prepare well and we ended up having to leave early because I had frozen toes! We spent the rest of the weekend visiting, playing games, watching movies, and eating until we were sick. Christmas came and went much to quickly, but we enjoyed the holiday.
